Benecel is used in plant-based meat, processed meat, bakso, sausages, whipping cream, seasoning and breading powders, and vegetarian products.
Benecel MX also works as an egg-white replacing binder in surimi, fish ball, chicken sausage and nugget, while Benecel HPMC gives volume to egg-free cakes and a stable foam in barista drinks. For plant-based cheese and meat see Benecel MX for plant-based food.
Product Range
Benecel A4M
Methylcellulose made by reacting alkali cellulose with methyl chloride. A thickener that improves texture, stabilises foam, thickens, and forms gels or films.
Suited to whipping cream, meat analogues and gluten-free bread. Its film-forming ability helps deep-fried products absorb less oil and stay juicy longer.
Benecel MX (modified methylcellulose)
Forms a strong gel when hot, keeping products firm during cooking. Well suited to processed meat and plant-based meat.
Its meat-like texture allows cost reduction in formulations; in products with high meat content Benecel MX helps soften the texture.
