Citric Acid Monohydrate & Anhydrous (Food Grade)

Chemifin supplies food grade citric acid in Indonesia in monohydrate and anhydrous form, ex stock from our warehouses in Jakarta and Surabaya. Citric acid is the most common acidulant in the beverage and food industry and is also widely used in cleaners, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

Citric acid (E330) gives a fresh sour taste, adjusts pH and acts as a natural preservative and chelating agent. Monohydrate is the most common form for beverages and food; anhydrous is chosen where a higher acid content or a moisture-sensitive product is required, for example powdered drinks and effervescent tablets.

Also known as asam sitrat or citric acid E330; packed in 25 kg bags, from China, and halal certified.

What is the difference between citric acid monohydrate and anhydrous?

Monohydrate contains one molecule of water and is slightly more economical; it suits most beverages and food. Anhydrous has no water of crystallisation, is more stable in dry products such as powdered drinks and effervescent tablets, and gives a higher acid content per kg.

What do the mesh sizes 8-40 and 30-100 mean?

Mesh indicates the particle size. 8-40 mesh is coarser and flows well; 30-100 mesh is finer and dissolves faster. We help you choose the right one for your production process.
